You bring summer to the heart of a winter morning
You turn (wilting) daffodils to stone
You bring warmth to the clouds of a storm forming
You make everything seem clear:
I must seek love and nothing more –
(the ‘nothing less’ unsaid)
Buried deep in my heart is the fear of longing
The loss of everything I hold dear
I lap the sorrow at the feet of your thoughts
I kiss your loneliness goodbye
I can’t kill the demon exercising his wrath
but I can put him to sleep alright.
N.B.: I see this more like lyrics to a song than a poem. If only I could write music, because I have a tune in my head I hum this to.
